WHY OPPOSITION PARTY IS NOT LONGER AN OPTION IN ILAJE/ESE- ODO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.

As 2023 general election inches closer, it is another opportunity for us to determine our fate four another four years and it will surely accentuates whether we are addicted to suffering and perrenial infrastructural deficit in our constituency or whether we are sincerely yearning for better and efficient representation most especially in Ilaje local government where most of our coastal communities are on the verge of extinction due to environmental degradation.

While we understand sentiment plays critical role in determining the electoral fortunes of a candidate in an election we must not also forget competence takes precedence over sentiment and voting someone that has political will to accede to our yearnings and aspirations and be a vanguard voice of our people at the national level in order to stop the excruciating hardship and Injustice being melted on our people is very sacrosanct and goes beyond party’s and ethnic affiliation.

It is very unfortunate that both APC and PDP voted massively for our clansman in the last election on the basis of sentiment with the motives of getting the dividends hence a popular cliche” To whom much is given, much is expected ” unfortunately there was a distant between expectation and reality while we were expecting our kinsman to reciprocate what we did for him his performance is totally shoddy and fall below expectations.

Having traversed across the length and breath of our federal Constituency it is trite to conclude there is no single NDDC contracts in the entire federal Constituency in the three years while different projects are being executed in other Constituencies that’s not even an oil producing area. Should we say NDDC as federal government agency has abdicated its statutory responsibility or we do not have someone to agitate for our rights?

The question above is very important and it requires urgent answer. It is glaring we have sacrificed our rights and entitlement as result of primordial sentiment which is the rationale behind our predicament today.

It is very insulting and unspeakable that we are the geese laying the golden eggs yet our rights and entitlement are being taken away to a stranger’s land while we appear powerless to stop this Injustice being melted on our people. How do we tell people we voted our son to represent our interest at the national level yet our our rights are being trampled upon and the imcumbent member House of Representatives of our constituency is flippant and nonchalant about this ugly situation giving flimsy excuses on the pretext of being in opposition party ?

Every discerning minds yearning for responsive and responsible leadership must never thought of PDP in Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency this time around because this not the time for sentiment but a time elevate the common interest of our over individual’s political ambition and if we must restore our glory we need Representatives on the platform of APC which is no other person than Hon. Donald Ojogo.

Since our incumbent Member House of Representatives has failed to represent our interest on the pretext of being opposition party should we continue with the opposition party while our people are suffering?

Let’s call a spade, a spade our kinsman doesn’t understand the politics of the National Assembly while his counterparts are bringing concrete achievements to their Constituencies he is busy speaking big English.

I urge all and sundry irrespective of their political affliation to join forces with Hon. Donald Ojogo to rescue our federal constituency while our kinsman keep seeking public sentiment we have unravel the truth that, it is not a matter of ethnicity but someone who has the political will to tackle our existential challenges.

Signed:

Ebiwanno Omolade Kingsley.
