CP YEMI OYEDIRAN, psc, fsi INVITES BANK MANAGERS, NUPENG, DPR AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS OVER IMMINENT PROTEST IN THE STATE.

-Warn against any action or inaction that can lead to breach of peace in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Oyeyemi Oyediran, psc, fsi, on 6th February, 2023, met with stakeholders in the state to address the issues of scarcity/inability to access cash at financial institutions. Hike in fuel price at various filling stations.

He noted that the Command is aware of plans to embark on protest in the state as a way of showcasing their grievances, he urged them not to, as relevant
organizations were invited to the meeting to help shed more light on the current challenges faced by the people in the state.

One of the Bank manager present gave an insight to what led to the scarcity of cash while the NUPENG official also addressed stakeholders present.

The CP urged the concern citizens not to embark on any form of Protest as it is not healthy, considering the current security situation of the state for it not to be hijacked by hoodlums or use as a means to perpetrate other heinous crime in the state.

After the dialogue, it was suggested that an active taskforce be emplaced to monitor the activities of the relevant bodies to ensure the issues mentioned are resolved.

Present at the meeting are The Police Management Team, representatives of NANS/SUGs, Bank Managers, NUPENG, Akure youth coalition, DPR, Influencers/Activists etc.
