2023 Presidential Election Withness Voting Apathy in Ondo.
The Presidential and House of Representatives election for 2023 witnessed a lot of voting apathy in some of the polling unit visited in ward five ,unit 072 in Akure South Local Government. Out of seven hundred and fifty Ballot paper accredited, only one hundred and seventy voted. Also the same situation occured at Ijare in Ifedore local government where four hundred and fifty two ballot paper were accredited and only one hundred and seventy two voted. The turn out was very low.at other unit 12 ward 09.
Although, the voting went on smoothly, as most of the electorates conducted themselves moderately in line with the laid down rules and regulations of the electoral act. The Presiding officers in most of these units has to destroyed the unused ballot paper. The shorting and counting of the votes started around 3:30 in most of the units. The level of vote buying was very low in all the polling units visited.

The situation was different from Ondo East ward 1 unit 16, and ward 7 unit 10 in Ondo west where people came out in large numbers to cast their votes to their respective candidates. In all these units, it appears that the Ruling Party -APC was leading in Presidential and Representative election.
