The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers–NUT, Ilaje Local Government, Ondo State Chapter Comrade Omoyele Omosowone on behalf of the Union has felicitated with their fellow Workers across the state. Speaking with the Exponent Magazine News today in Akure, the Chairman said that May Day celebration is a yearly event and at the same time, the celebration is a gain to the rights of Nigerian workers, because the Country had passed through a lot of issues and at the same time they the workers had contributed their own quota to the development of the economy of the State and the Country at large.

 

According to him, the celebration which had been in existence for years is a way of reminding the workers of their contribution towards the development of the civil service and the society at large. He said the activities of this year, is to enable the workers recognise their uniqueness in doing things as regards to the administration in Ondo State.

He said Government should make the welfare of her workers a thing of priority because they are the engine room of the Government and therefore, they need to be valued and appreciated. He said their expectations from the Government is absolute appreciation for their efforts day-in- day-out, towards progress of the movement of the administration, so that Governments could be able to achieve the goals and the objectives they have for the workforce. As this would also motivate the workers in, for them to continue contributing their quota to the development of the society.

Also, the Chairman congratulated all his fellow workers once again for witnessing this year 2023 workers celebration and prayed to God for guidance and protection for them to witness more years in life .

Highlight of the events include match Pass by the various Union groups, musical interlude supplied by the men of the Nigerian Police band and the cultural troop from the Ondo State award winning Cultural group.
