Administrator Samantha Power Meets with Norway Minister for International Development

The below is attributable to Spokesperson Jessica Jennings:‎

Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with Norway’s Minister for International Development Anne Beathe Tvinnereim, to discuss opportunities for collaboration, including the partnership between the United States and Norway on an upcoming event on the margins of the opening of the UN General Assembly.

On September 18, USAID Administrator Samantha Power, Norwegian Minister of International Development Anne Beathe Tvinnereim, and World Economic Forum President Børge Brende will host an event featuring Secretary Janet Yellen, Kenyan President William Ruto, African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina, and DFC CEO Scott Nathan, on financing Africa’s agricultural growth. This event will focus on how donor governments, development finance institutions, African governments, and the private sector can catalyze action to strengthen food value chains through innovative financing for small- and medium-sized agricultural businesses, key drivers of Africa’s economic growth.
