According to them, the fishing industry and the transportation business of their people had paralyzed due to the activities of these two  problems. They lamented that they are having problems with the dredging of the water of which they said that the dredging came around in 1977 and after that  there  was a re-dredging once and since that time nothing had been done as they are having problems most  especially during the drying seasons.

They explained that fetching water was a big problem for them as they could not sail through the WATER HYACINTH and the mood that had blocked the water .

According to them , coming to Ilaje now especially to  Orioke-Iwamimo, Ogogoro, Zion Ogogoro, Kugbanre and other Ilaje communities around 3:00pm now is a huge problem as the water would have dried up totally.  Their words” if you are coming to Orioke-Iwamimo now during the low tide, the speed boat have to drop you as far as in Odunmaran community before trekking to Orioke-Iwamimo which is not too good for them as they could not Carry their luggage along side with them in this situation ”

They are now calling on the government to come and re dredging the whole Ilaje carnal for them otherwise the life in the river rine would be brutal for them as they could not move down to the Alape side to go and fetch water because the whole river have been blocked and this is not making life comfortable for them .

Speaking further, Isogun said the community has not been enjoying any social amenities from the government in the community as all the rural electrification put in place to supply light to their people are done via the community efforts and that of the favour that is coming from one of their illustrious son whom God had blessed financially was the one supporting them with solar energy together with the liister Diesel Machine bought by community to supply them light during festive period like the ongoing Annual Convention in the community and  during Christmas period.

Lamenting that there was no local and pipe born water erupted by the government in the community for them to wash their clothes, drink and cooking their food. He said they have not been giving any thing from the local and state government.

In another development, Hon Justus Adebayo Isogun said the community is having five polling units and they use to vote seriously during the election and  the politicians would only promised them heaven and earth and at the end they would disappointed them.

He said though they know that they could not do everything at the same time but they should just layed their hands on any one they feel they could do as they would be very grateful if they can realize their demands.
