In a bid to solve the economic hardship facing the good people of Nigeria by addressing the high cost of food prices, experts have come up with the ideas of subsidizing the Agricultural input for the Farmers in order to make food available for the people in our society, as Nigerians are suffering as a result of this economic hardship facing the country economy.

According to the Governor of plateau State , Caleb Mutfwang, in his submission said that his government had started giving out palliative to the people for the purpose of cushion the effects of the economic hardship the people are passing through in the state.
He said that his administration is working assiduously in order to reduced the tendency of greed among the people from diverting the palliative from getting to the intended people it meant for to another people.

Speaking via zoom on the national TV, from Lagos State on the topic ,Role of State Governors in addressing hike in food prices, Governor Mutfwang said their is need for the training of the Farm extension workers which he said is very important as they could trained other farmers in order for them to increased the Agricultural produce in the state.

He explained that procurement of right input and increase seedlings is very germane to the Farmers as these would helped them in their farming activities. He opined that the government are planning ahead to take the advantages of the coming raining season to practice an irrigation farming all year round in order to have more food to feed the people in the state.

While explaining, Governor Mutfwang said their plans now was to develop a strategy that would reduced the farm produce loss across the state in order to have more food to feed the people while at the same time exporting the excessive Agricultural product for the purpose of boosting the economy.

On the issue of the security challenges, the governor said the insecurity is a big threat to the Agricultural investment. According to him, steps had been taken toward collaborating with the NSCDC, personnel, the Local Hunters, the Vigilante and other security Agencies for the purpose of deploying security apparatus to guide the farm land in the country.

He said there is going to be an increase in the employment of the Forest Guards that would guide farm land. He also spoke on the inter state collaboration among the state governors for the purpose of stopping those that are causing destruction in the farm land, governor Mutfwang said the state governors should ensure that they made use of the comparative advantages of each state for the benefits of the Nigerians .
