The Igbotako-born chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) died in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness.

Before his death, Chief Iwaeni was a member of the Governing Council of the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.

Governor Aiyedatiwa said Chief Iwaeni was a dedicated servant of his people and a passionate advocate of grassroots development, adding that his contributions to political movement and community development will never be forgotten.

The Governor, who described Iwaeni as a committed party man and associate, said his death was a devastating blow to the party, Igbotako community and the State.

The Governor expressed his commiserations with the Iwaeni family, the people of Okitipupa local government area and the progressive fold in Ondo State and prayed for the repose of his soul.

Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan,
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State.
