Press Statement by APC Leaders of Thought in Idanre Local Government Area, Ondo State

December 14, 2024

We, the Leaders of Thought and committed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, hereby address today’s purported suspension of the Ondo State APC Chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, from his Ofosu ward. We wish to make it abundantly clear that this action is a complete fabrication and a figment of the imagination of mischief makers and impostors within the party.

The purported suspension letter that has been circulating is nothing but a desperate attempt by a few individuals with ulterior motives to create division and instability within the party. The so-called signatories to this letter are not recognized by the APC, and their actions have no legitimacy whatsoever. It is also important to note that some of the signatures on the purported suspension letter were forged, with the intention of misleading unsuspecting members of the party.

We want to categorically state that Engineer Ade Adetimehin remains the legitimate and duly elected Chairman of the Ondo State APC. His leadership has been characterized by commitment, loyalty, and a steadfast dedication to the progress of our great party. This baseless and malicious attempt to remove him from office is a sad reflection of the antics of a few individuals who are bent on sowing discord for personal gain.

The timing of this attempt to destabilize the party is also deeply concerning. Engineer Adetimehin’s tenure as chairman is drawing to a close, and there is no reason to introduce unnecessary conflict at a time when we should be focusing on strengthening our party and ensuring a smooth transition. The actions of those behind this plot are designed to create disaffection and confusion, which could ultimately harm the unity and peace of the APC in Ondo State.

We call on the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to urgently intervene and bring to order those behind this unwarranted and divisive move. The leadership of the APC in Ondo State cannot afford to be distracted by such senseless schemes. We urge the Governor to take all necessary steps to ensure that these individuals, who seek to destabilize the party, are held accountable and that the peace and unity of the APC are preserved.

Finally, we stand firmly with Engineer Ade Adetimehin as the Chairman of the Ondo State APC, and we reaffirm our commitment to the progress and success of the party in Ondo State. We will not allow the machinations of a few to derail the collective effort to move our party and our state forward.

Thank you.

Signed:

Leaders of Thought,
APC, Idanre Local Government Area, Ondo State.
