Christmas: House Felicitates Nigerians, Emphasises Unity, Love, and Peace
Abuja, FCT | Tuesday, December 24, 2024
The House of Representatives extends warm Christmas greetings to all Nigerians, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and the enduring message of hope, love, and peace that the season brings.
Christmas is a time to reflect on the values that unite us as a people – compassion, generosity, and forgiveness. These values, exemplified in the life of Jesus Christ, are not only pillars of faith but also essential for fostering harmony and progress in our diverse nation.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, in his congratulatory message to Christians as they celebrate Christmas in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, called for unity, peace, and love for one another, transcending religious and ethnic divides.
He stated that the birth of Jesus Christ signifies newness and fulfillment, while calling for a national rebirth at this critical time in the life of Nigerians. Speaker Abbas also urged Christians and all Nigerians to use this occasion to pray for a new Nigeria – one that aligns with our collective dreams – and for the country’s leadership, particularly our political, religious, and traditional leaders.
Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, added, “As we mark the birth of Jesus Christ, who brought light and redemption to humanity, let us reflect on the values He embodied: love, forgiveness, and selflessness. May His example inspire us to spread love, kindness, and compassion to all, especially those who may be struggling.”
The 10th House of Representatives reaffirms its dedication to promoting the welfare of every Nigerian. It is our prayer that the joy and light of Christmas fill every home and strengthens the bonds of love and unity across our nation.
Merry Christmas to all Nigerians.
Signed:
*Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr.*
