
LG Election: Mahin Ward II Voters Fulfill Civic Duty in Peaceful Election

In a peaceful demonstration of democracy, residents of Mahin Ward II in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State exercised their civic rights during the ongoing local government elections. Voters in the ward came out in large numbers to cast their ballots, with many expressing support for their preferred candidates.
In a phone interview with Mr. Claudius Afotan, by Exponent News a prominent APC leader in Constituency 2, Mahin Ward II, he confirmed that the election had gone smoothly, with no reported issues. According to Mr. Afotan, voters showed strong support for Mr. Moris Oripanaye, the APC candidate for Chairmanship from the Ugbo axis in Constituency 1, as well as for Mr. Emmanuel Ogunniyi, the APC candidate contesting for the councillorship position in Mahin Ward II.
Mr. Afotan praised both candidates for their long-standing political commitment, noting that Mr. Oripanaye has been a consistent contender for the Chairmanship and State House of Assembly positions, with many locals hopeful that his leadership will bring progress to the community. He also highlighted that the atmosphere at the polls was calm, with voters able to freely exercise their franchise without interference.
As of the time of filing this report, the voting process had concluded, and all attention was now focused on awaiting the results, which would be announced by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC). The election in Mahin Ward II is seen as an important moment for local governance in the Ilaje Local Government Area, with many residents eager to see change and development in the region.
