ONDO NUJ: SUSPENSION OF PLANNED PICKETING OF OWENA PRESS OFFICE

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has suspended its planned picketing of the office of Owena Press, publisher of The Hope Newspaper.

The picketing, initially scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, 20th January 2025, was called off following the peaceful resolution of the impasse that led to the earlier notice.

The terms of the resolution include the reversal of the previous redeployment of the Editor and other senior editorial staff, as well as ensuring proper adherence to public service regulations within the organization.

While we remain committed to upholding our mandate to protect the interests of our members, we also recognize the importance of maintaining Owena Press as a public media outlet.

We extend our gratitude to all journalists, Ondo State labor leaders, senior government officials, and other well-meaning individuals who intervened to facilitate a timely and peaceful resolution.

E-signed:

Leke Adegbite
Chairman

Olaoluwa Meshack
Secretary
