IGP Egbetokun Attends EAPCCO Annual Meeting in Kigali, Representing WAPCCO

Discussions Focus on Regional Policing Initiatives and Global Security Cooperation

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, in his role as Chairperson of the West Africa Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO), is attending the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Annual General Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda. The event, which runs from January 28 to 31, 2025, gathers police leaders, law enforcement officials, and international stakeholders to foster collaboration in addressing transnational organized crime and terrorism.

Joined by senior officers, including CP Interpol Olaolu Adegbite, IGP Egbetokun’s presence highlights Nigeria’s dedication to strengthening global security partnerships. Throughout the conference, he will engage with national and international law enforcement representatives to discuss strategies for improving public safety and addressing emerging criminal trends.

A key aspect of the IGP’s agenda is to showcase Nigeria’s policing initiatives, including efforts in intelligence sharing, capacity building, and community engagement. His participation emphasizes the importance of regional cooperation and aims to bolster ties between Nigeria and other African nations in tackling cross-border crime. The EAPCCO Annual General Meeting serves as a vital platform for reviewing policies, strengthening cooperation, and formulating resolutions to enhance international policing effectiveness.
