Afenifere Youth Council President, Eniola Olajuni, Released After 12 Days in Kidnappers’ Custody

Admin 1st March,2025

Eniola Olajuni, the National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, has been released by his abductors after 12 harrowing days in captivity. Olajuni confirmed his release in a brief video posted on Facebook by SaharaReporters, where he revealed that he was freed in Ibilo, Edo State, on the evening of March 1, 2025.

The Afenifere Youth leader had been abducted on February 17, 2025, while en route to a meeting in Abuja. His kidnappers demanded a ransom of N100 million and two tricycles for his release. A chilling video showing Olajuni pleading for help and requesting funds for his freedom had earlier gone viral.

The Nigerian Police, under the direction of Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, had deployed the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to secure Olajuni’s safe release.
