Eid-el-Kabir: NSCDC Deploys 900 Tactical Operatives in Ondo, Assures Maximum Security

By Exponent News, Akure – June 5, 2025

As Muslim faithful prepare for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 900 tactical operatives across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure festive period.

The deployment, ordered by the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, is part of a nationwide strategy to boost security during the holiday. In Ondo State, the operatives were mobilized under the directive of Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye, who disclosed the details during an official briefing on Wednesday.

The personnel—drawn from specialized units such as Intelligence, Special Female Squad, Quick Response Team, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Agro Rangers, motorised patrols, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit—will focus on protecting critical national infrastructure, deterring criminal activity, and safeguarding lives and property during and after the celebrations.

Speaking during the distribution of operational vehicles provided by the state government, Commandant Ibiloye emphasized the need for inter-agency collaboration, especially in intelligence gathering and response coordination. “No security agency has a monopoly on security management. We must work together and share actionable intelligence,” he said.

He also urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, assuring residents that the NSCDC is fully prepared to neutralize any threats that may arise.

The Commandant extended warm Eid greetings to the Muslim community and all residents of Ondo State, encouraging them to observe the celebration peacefully and responsibly.
