Ondo Police Command Assures Residents of Tight Security Ahead of Eid-el-Kabir Festivities

As preparations heighten for the annual Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Ondo State Police Command has moved to reassure residents of the state that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and incident-free festivity.
In an official press release issued on Wednesday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, the Command emphasized its commitment to “water-tight security” across all parts of the state during and after the celebration.
The Commissioner of Police has ordered the strategic deployment of personnel, including tactical squads, detectives, and intelligence officers, to Eid prayer grounds, public spaces, and critical infrastructure. Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) have also been directed to intensify patrols, maintain high visibility, and ensure the safety of worshippers and residents throughout the celebration period.
“This effort is part of our unwavering commitment to protect lives and property and maintain public order during this spiritually significant season,” the statement read.
The Command urged Muslim faithful to reflect the values of obedience, selflessness, and compassion, which define Eid-el-Kabir, and encouraged all residents to celebrate responsibly and within the confines of the law.
In a goodwill message, the Police Command extended warm Eid greetings to the Muslim community and appealed for continued prayers for peace, security, and progress in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
The police warned that any attempt to breach public peace will be met with the full weight of the law, and advised the public to report suspicious activity to the Command.
