…More supplies on the way – LG Chairman assures

In a decisive response to the recent rainstorm that ravaged several coastal communities in Ilaje Local Government Area, the Ondo State Government has distributed emergency relief materials to affected residents, reinforcing its commitment to swift disaster management under its OUR EASE Agenda.

The items, which include mattresses, zinc roofing sheets, sacks of nails, and other essentials, were handed over to community representatives at a public event held at the Ilaje Local Government Secretariat. The handover was officiated by the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Amona Maurice Oripenaye (Arah), who praised Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his prompt intervention.

“This is a testament to the Governor’s compassionate leadership and dedication to the wellbeing of his people,” Oripenaye said. “These materials will bring much-needed relief to those who suffered losses from the rainstorm. And more relief is still on the way.”

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Emergency Response, Prince (Hon.) Oriade Wellington Adebawo, who delivered the items on behalf of the state, confirmed the government’s continued support, assuring that additional supplies are expected soon.

Communities such as Gbabijo, Peteinu, Oroyomi, and Omogbehinwa were among the worst hit by the storm. Representatives from these areas expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor. Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Elder Ayantuga Ajurunjo of Peteinu community said, “We are deeply grateful to Governor Aiyedatiwa for his support during this difficult time, and we appreciate the Chairman’s efforts in ensuring the fair distribution of the materials.”

The event was well attended by top officials including the Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Esejuwon Oluwarantimi; Secretary to the LG, Hon. Segun Odolo; Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Barr. Orire Ayo; and community leaders such as Chief Bamgbose Adewale (Baale of Gbabijo) and Elder Ademuwagun Festus from Omogbehinwa
