The House of Representatives has released the official Order Paper for Thursday, June 26, 2025, detailing the legislative business scheduled as the Third Session of the 10th National Assembly progresses. The Order Paper was issued by Rep. Francis Waive, Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business.

The Green Chamber is expected to consider a robust agenda comprising twenty bills for first reading, four reports for presentation, one bill for third reading, six bills for second reading, and three motions addressing key national issues.

Highlights of the Order Paper

Twenty Bills for First Reading

Some notable bills include:

South East Institute for Vocational and Entrepreneurship Studies, Umuobun (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Ikeagwuonu Ugochinyere

Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ikare, Ondo State (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Ifeoluwa Ehindero

Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act (Amendment) Bill – Rep. Olusoji Abidemi Adetunji

National Agriculture Improvement Board (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Esosa Iyawe

Nigerian Fintech Regulatory Commission (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Fuad Kayode Laguda

Federal University of Health Sciences, Ugwolawo, Kogi State (Establishment) Bill – Rep. David Idris Zacharias

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Institute (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi

Four Committee Reports to Be Presented

All reports will be presented by Rep. Patrick Umoh and include:

1. Federal Medical Centre, Kachia (Establishment)

2. Federal College of Nursing Sciences, Mangun (Establishment)

3. Federal Medical Centre, Isiala Ngwa (Establishment)

4. Federal Medical Centre, Toro (Establishment)

 

One Bill for Third Reading

Federal University of Mining and Geosciences, Jos (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Julius Ihonvbere

Six Bills for Second Reading

These include proposals to establish various academic and professional institutions, such as:

Institute of Chartered Biochemists and Molecular Biologists (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Kingsley Chinda and 48 others

Federal College of Agriculture (via amendment to Agricultural Research Council Act) – Rep. Oluwole Oke

Federal Institute for Driving Technology, Ibeju Lekki (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Adebayo Balogun

Three Motions for Debate

1. Urgent Intervention on Gully Erosion in Ideato North/South, Imo State – Rep. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere

2. Electrification of Communities in Anambra State – Rep. Gwacham Maureen Chinwe

3. Flooding and Erosion Challenges in Fagge, Kano State – Rep. Muhammad Bello Shehu
