Ondo Govt Slams ‘False Alarm’ on Judiciary Complex Collapse

Admin 12th August,2025.

The Ondo State Government has dismissed as “baseless and misleading” reports alleging structural damage at the ongoing construction site of the new Judiciary Complex in Akure.

During an inspection on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, said there was no truth to claims that part of the project had collapsed.

“We have moved round all the 10 buildings in this project, including the ceremonial court, modular courts A to G, the utility building, and the registry building. There is no structural failure. The workers are doing perfect work,” Olawoye stated.

He explained that thorough soil tests, reinforcement checks, and continuous quality control measures—such as cube, integrity, and balsamatic strength assessments—have shown no defects.

The commissioner noted that the project is now 45–50 percent complete and assured that the contractor, consultants, and the ministry are working to meet the highest standards.

Once completed, the 10-building complex—flagged off by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in December last year—is expected to transform judicial operations in Ondo State.
