
Ikun-Akoko Gears Up for Colorful 2025 Ikun Day — Culture, Unity, and ₦32m Development Drive on the Agenda

The ancient town of Ikun-Akoko in Ondo State is set to come alive this Saturday, August 16, as residents, indigenes, and guests converge for the 2025 edition of Ikun Day — a celebration promising a dazzling blend of tradition, entertainment, and community development.
President of the Ikun Progressive Union (IPU) National, Elder Orimijua Titus, FCA, revealed at a press conference in Akure that the event, themed “Working Together for Unity, Peace, and Development of Our Community”, will feature cultural parades, traditional games, sports competitions, religious services, and the unveiling of a ₦32 million development fund.

The festivities, billed for Ajagbokun High School Grounds, will include the finals of the Inter-Quarters Football Tournament, the Ayo Olopon contest, a yam-eating fiesta, the commissioning of a new school gate by the Lead Way Club, a beauty pageant, and special awards to outstanding youths and elders.
Elder Orimijua called on all “Omo Ikun Tile Toko” and well-wishers to be part of what he described as “an unforgettable experience” showcasing Ikun-Akoko’s resilience, cultural pride, and developmental aspirations.
