As part of renewed efforts to forestall crimes during the ember months, the Ondo State Police Command has commenced strategic engagements with critical stakeholders across the state to strengthen intelligence sharing and enhance public safety.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, led the initiative on Tuesday, holding separate meetings with hoteliers, tanker drivers, and members of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

In his session with the Association of Hoteliers, CP Lawal emphasized the need for seamless information flow, civic responsibility, and compliance with safety regulations such as the maintenance of lodger registers to prevent hotels from being used as criminal hideouts.

The hoteliers, led by their Chairman, Elder Ebenezer Omoniyi, pledged full cooperation with security agencies to ensure a peaceful and secure business environment.

Similarly, CP Lawal met with tanker drivers and NUPENG officials, where the associations expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for their support in enhancing security in Ondo State. They pledged total commitment to working with the Police in safeguarding lives and property.

The Command reiterated its dedication to proactive policing, strong stakeholder partnerships, and full implementation of the IGP’s people-centered security strategy.
