
Ondo NUJ Sets Stage for 2025 Press Week, Inaugurates Planning Committee
As preparations begin for the 2025 edition of its annual Media/Press Week, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has inaugurated a 7-member committee to coordinate the event.
The committee, chaired by Banjo Egunjobi with Jacob Akintunde as Secretary, is tasked with organizing activities scheduled to take place between December 14 and 21, 2025. Other members include Adedotun Ajayi, Olufisoye Adenitan, Kunle Ajibogun, and Omoriola Hungbeji. The State Secretary of the Union will serve as the representative of the State Executive on the committee.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Tuesday at the NUJ Press Centre in Akure. Speaking at the event, the Ondo NUJ Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, urged the committee to work towards delivering a robust and impactful press week. He also called on members of the Union to support the planning team in ensuring the success of the annual celebration.

In his response, Egunjobi appreciated the Union’s leadership for the opportunity to serve and assured members of the committee’s commitment to organizing a memorable and well-executed event.
The NUJ said the Press Week will feature a series of events aimed at celebrating media excellence, promoting press freedom, and strengthening camaraderie among journalists in the state.
