Media Stakeholders Urge Online Journalists to Uphold Ethical Standards

The Ondo State Chapter of the Online Media Professionals of Nigeria (OMP) has formally inaugurated its new executive leadership in a ceremony marked by celebration and a strong call for professionalism.

The inauguration, held at the NUJ Press Centre in Alagbaka, Akure, drew notable figures from the media landscape, including Prince Leke Adegbite, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council.

In his remarks, Prince Adegbite congratulated the new OMP leaders and underscored the growing responsibility of online media professionals to maintain credibility in their reportage. He also reaffirmed the NUJ’s commitment to supporting the OMP through continuous capacity building and collaborative initiatives.

Newly sworn-in OMP Chairman, Joseph Adesuyan, expressed gratitude to the NUJ and other stakeholders for their support, pledging to steer the association toward greater relevance and internal cohesion.

Adesuyan assured members of the executive’s dedication to promoting training, welfare, and inclusiveness, stating, “We are determined to promote unity among members and ensure that OMP remains a force to be reckoned with in the Sunshine State.”

The event signals a renewed era for online journalism in Ondo State, with both leaders and stakeholders emphasizing professionalism, unity, and the ethical responsibilities of the digital media space.
