How Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Media Aide Blasts Commissioners over conspiracy

How Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Media Aide Blasts Commissioners over conspiracy
‎
‎By Olusegun HOSEA, 14th December, 2025.
‎
‎In a provocative and emotional video released by Taiwo Gbamila, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Multimedia, he openly blasted the Commissioners for Infrastructure and Works and Finance for allegedly frustrating the activities of his office.
‎
‎Gbamila alleged that the commissioners deliberately withheld funds meant for the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, thereby hindering the execution of publicity assignments showcasing the achievements of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa over the past six months. He expressed deep frustration over the persistent lack of funds, noting that while the Commissioner for Infrastructure and Works had sufficient resources to run his ministry without delay, funds allocated to the media office were not released. Despite this challenge, the office continued its publicity work at the personal expense of the SSA, all in the interest of promoting the governor’s administration.
‎
‎He further alleged that the Commissioner for Infrastructure and Works claimed, during a public stakeholders’ meeting, that the media was not doing anything. According to Gbamila, he restrained himself from reacting harshly to the statement out of respect for the presence of Governor Aiyedatiwa, stating that otherwise, he would have confronted the commissioner publicly.
‎
‎In the viral video, Gbamila also explained that the Commissioner for Infrastructure and Works prevented media personnel from documenting ongoing projects in the ministry and instructed his staff not to allow any media coverage without his personal approval. Defying this directive, Gbamila proceeded to carry out his official duties without seeking approval, stating that he would not request permission from anyone to perform his job for his principal. He confirmed that he successfully carried out the assignment without interference.
‎
‎‎ Internal Power Struggles  and Alleged Sabotage Within Ondo State Government Unfold
‎
‎In another development, the SSA criticized the commissioner for consistently running down his office. He accused the commissioner of being largely unavailable while media aides were actively working and campaigning to promote the governor, despite benefiting from an appointment under the same administration.
‎
‎A statement captured from his media handle read:
‎“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s aide, Taiwo Gbamila, blasts Commissioner for Infrastructure for running down the Governor’s media aides at a stakeholders’ meeting in Akure.”
‎
‎The statement reflects the frustration and emotional strain caused by what Gbamila described as deliberate attempts to demoralize the media office. He explained that as chairman of a committee tasked with promoting the governor’s achievements, collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure was necessary. However, he alleged that the commissioner repeatedly ignored calls from him and other committee members and eventually frustrated the meeting that supposed to held in his office.
‎
‎Gbamila issued a strong warning, stating that if the commissioner continued to undermine his office, he ( the commissioner) would not achieve anything in this current administration. He emphasized that he is not someone who runs others down, describing himself as a child of God who cannot be silenced.
‎
‎He further stated that he could not be frustrated, affirming his belief in success despite opposition. He accused both the Ministries of Infrastructure and Finance of conspiring to halt media publicity efforts since last year, lamenting that while commissioners spent government funds freely, his office relied on personal resources to carry out official duties with dedication.
‎
‎According to him, the duty of his office is to protect and promote the success of the governor, not to be undermined by fellow appointees. He rejected the idea of remaining silent in the face of injustice, stating that a closed mouth leads to a closed destiny. He therefore cautioned the Ministries of Infrastructure and Finance to stop what he described as a “pull-down spirit syndrome” and allow the media aides to perform their official duties diligently by releasing their funds promptly, just as no one obstructs the activities of their ministries.
