The remaining 130 schoolchildren abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, on November 21 have regained their freedom. This was disclosed by the Presidential spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, and released to the public via his social media platforms.
According to him, the children are expected to reunite with their families soon. His words: “They are expected to arrive in Minna on Monday and rejoin their parents for the Christmas celebration.” He said 100 students were released earlier by the terrorists, bringing the total number of freed students to 230.
The release of the schoolchildren followed a military intelligence–driven operation.
