Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), delivered a powerful message on covenant and caution during a service today. He began by expressing deep concern for the numerous wars in Nigeria and the global impact of border attacks, urging prayers for those affected. In a surprising advisory, he strongly cautioned Nigerians, particularly farmers, against the use of fire this year, saying, “Don’t burn bush. Don’t deal with fire this year. Don’t say I didn’t tell you.” The reason for this unusual warning was not explicitly stated, leaving many to speculate.

The core of Pastor Adeboye’s message focused on the significance of a covenant with God. He differentiated between a contract and a covenant, emphasizing the sacred and binding nature of the latter, with its ultimate penalty being death. He illustrated this with the biblical example of Abraham’s covenant with God, highlighting the importance of obedience and faithfulness.
Pastor Adeboye then explored the motivations behind joining secret societies, citing reasons such as business gains, protection, and the pursuit of prosperity. He cautioned against such affiliations, emphasizing the dangers of betraying God and the potential consequences of breaking covenants.
He contrasted these worldly pursuits with the unparalleled power and blessings that come from a covenant with God. He spoke of divine promotion, protection, and prosperity, citing biblical verses and sharing anecdotes to illustrate God’s faithfulness in upholding His covenants. He recounted stories of individuals who experienced miraculous interventions and blessings due to their covenant with God, including the establishment of a church in a Muslim nation despite legal restrictions.
Pastor Adeboye concluded his message by urging his congregation and the world to embrace a covenant relationship with God, emphasizing its transformative power and the inexplicable blessings it brings. He stressed the importance of serving God faithfully and keeping His commandments, assuring that those who do so will experience divine favor and guidance.
