Ondo State to Host Weeklong Celebration for Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Adelami’s Inauguration
Ondo State is set to host a vibrant lineup of events marking the inauguration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Owolabi Adelami. The weeklong celebrations will culminate in a grand swearing-in ceremony on Monday, February 24, 2025.
The Inauguration Steering Committee has unveiled a packed schedule to usher in the new administration. Festivities will kick off on Friday, February 21, with a Jumat Service at Akure Central Mosque at 1 pm, where the Muslim community will gather for prayer and reflection.
Saturday, February 22, shifts focus to Ondo’s tourism sector, with a Beach Sunsplash event at Araromi Seaside in Ilaje Local Government Area. Set for 11 am, the event will feature Governor Aiyedatiwa addressing a World Press Conference on the state’s coastal tourism potential.
On Sunday, February 23, a Church Thanksgiving Service will take place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, at 10 am. This solemn gathering will bring together political leaders, religious figures, and the public in gratitude.
The main event, the swearing-in ceremony, will be held on Monday, February 24, at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure at 10 am. Governor Aiyedatiwa and Dr. Adelami will officially assume office, marking the start of their administration.
The celebrations will conclude with an Inauguration Gala Night and Book Presentation at The Dome, Akure, at 6 pm. This event will offer a platform to celebrate the new administration’s vision for the future of Ondo State.
