
Police Deny Theft Allegations in Idogun Incident
Akure, Ondo State — March 22, 2025
The Ondo State Police Command has issued a statement denying allegations that officers on quick intervention duty at Idogun were involved in stealing from a mobile phone shop, following a viral video circulating online.
The Command clarified that there is no mobile phone shop in the Idogun area, and the video in question is misleading. According to local traditional leaders, stakeholders, and officers present at the scene, the accusations are unfounded.
The Police Command has called on anyone with legitimate complaints to submit a formal petition to the Commissioner of Police, accompanied by evidence, for thorough investigation. They reassured the public of their commitment to justice and maintaining trust within the community.
