ANOTHER TRAIN ATTACK AS GUNMEN ABDUCT MANY PASSENGERS IN EDO STATE
In less than ten months after terrorists attacked Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28, 2022, gunmen have reportedly abducted an unspecified number of passengers in Igueben, in Igueben local government area of Edo State.

A report says the gunmen swooped on the passengers at Igueben mini train station around 5.35 pm on Saturday, 7 January 2023.
It was also gathered that the gunmen had earlier opened fire, thereby forcing the train to stop while the passengers scampered for safety.
During the incident, an unidentified number of commuters have been abducted and whisked to an unknown destination.

The Edo state Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident, said, “I called the Divisional Police Officer in Igueben Division who confirmed that some unknown gunmen opened fire on a train that stopped in Igueben to pick some passengers.
“The DPO and some vigilante members have mobilised into the bush to rescue some kidnapped victims.
It was gathered that no casualty was recorded during the attack.”
As at the time of this report, no call has been made by the kidnappers for ransom.
