Governor Aiyedatiwa Nominates Four Additional Commissioners for Ondo Executive Council

By Exponent News, Akure – June 21, 2025

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has nominated four more individuals for appointment as commissioners in the State Executive Council. This brings the total number of nominees under consideration to 16, following an earlier list of 12 submitted to the State House of Assembly last week.

The new nominations were contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, dated Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Titled “Request for Confirmation of Additional Commissioner Nominees,” the Governor cited his constitutional powers under Section 192 (1 & 2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) to make the nominations.

The four new nominees are:

1. Pastor Bola Ademuwagun

2. Engr. Leye Akinola

3. Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka

4. Hon. Adesoji Afolabi

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in the nominees and urged the House of Assembly to give swift consideration and confirmation in the interest of good governance and the overall development of the state.

“I shall be most obliged to the Honourable House for your expeditious action on this request in the overall interest of our dear State,” the letter stated.

The Governor also extended his highest regards to the Speaker and other members of the House for their continued cooperation.

The press statement was issued by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
