
NSCDC Ondo Command Arrests Four for Vandalism, Theft of Transformer Parts

The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four suspects in connection with the vandalization and illegal transportation of critical power infrastructure components.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the suspects were apprehended on June 26, 2025, at about 10:00 a.m. at the Old Ore Toll Gate, along Lagos Expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area.
The arrested individuals include:
Mogaji Ibrahim, 40, from Kano State
Umaru Adamu, 32, from Yobe State
Abba Muhazu, 19, from Yobe State
Adamu Idris, 25, also from Yobe State
They were caught while allegedly transporting vandalized items such as telecommunication wires, PHCN transformer parts, high-tension cables, copper, armoured cables, and other cut-to-size metal components from Kano to Lagos.
The statement revealed that the exhibits have been recovered and secured as evidence, while the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue to identify other members of the syndicate and the masterminds behind the operation.
The NSCDC State Commandant issued a stern warning to criminal elements using Ondo State as a transit route, stressing that operatives remain on high alert to safeguard national assets and flush out criminals from the state.
