ONDO POLICE CONFIRM DEATH OF AAUA STUDENT MURDER SUSPECT IN THE HOSPITAL.
By Exponent News, Akure | July 21, 2025

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of a murder suspect, Femi Oladele, popularly known as Tallex, who was being held in connection with the abduction and killing of two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

Oladele reportedly died after a brief illness while in the hospital. According to police sources, he had been receiving treatment under close medical supervision before passing away on Friday.

Oladele was arrested alongside two other suspects for their alleged involvement in the disappearance and subsequent death of two 200-level students — Andrel Okah of the Department of History and International Studies, and John Abba of the Department of Economics.

The two students were declared missing by their peers after being unaccounted for over a period of three weeks. Following the report, the police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of the suspects, including Oladele, who was said to be the landlord of one of the victims.

During interrogation, one of the suspects reportedly confessed that the students had been killed and their bodies dumped at different locations in Ekiti State. The body of Andrel Okah has since been recovered and deposited at a morgue, while efforts to recover Abba’s remains are ongoing.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, said:

“Yes, he (Oladele) is dead. He had been under medical care since his arrest and had been in and out of the hospital. He died in the early hours of Friday. We urge the public to ignore any misinformation. The command is committed to pursuing justice, and all those involved will face the full weight of the law.”

The tragic incident has continued to draw reactions from students, families, and members of the public, who are demanding thorough investigation and justice for the deceased undergraduates.
