Admin.12th August, 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new board members for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), agencies under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

Idris Olorunnimbe will chair the NCC board, with Dr. Aminu Maida retaining his position as Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, a role he assumed in October 2023.

Other NCC board members include Abraham Oshidami, Executive Commissioner, Technical Services; Rimini Makama, Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management; Hajia Maryam Bayi, former Director, Human Capital & Administration; Col. Abdulwahab Lawal (Rtd); Senator Lekan Mustafa; Chris Okorie; Princess Oforitsenere Emiko; and the board secretary.

For the USPF, the President appointed Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, as Chairman, with Olorunnimbe serving as Vice Chairman. Other members are Oshidami, Makama, Aliyu Edogi Aliyu (representing FMCIDE), Joseph B. Faluyi (Finance Ministry), Auwal Mohammed (Budget and National Planning Ministry), Uzoma Dozie, Peter Bankole, Abayomi Anthony Okanlawon, Gafar Oluwasegun Quadri, and the USPF Secretary.

The USPF was set up to promote universal access to information and communication technologies in Nigeria’s rural, unserved, and underserved areas.
