APC Strong and United in Rivers, Ready for LG Polls – Abe

Admin .17th August 2025

PORT HARCOURT – As Rivers State prepares for the forthcoming local government elections, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, Chairman of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW), has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state is strong, united, and ready to deliver democratic dividends at the grassroots.

Speaking at the flag-off campaign rally held Thursday at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt, Abe urged the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates to intensify their efforts to secure victory at the polls.

He stressed that the APC in Rivers is gradually consolidating as one body and called on all stakeholders with the interest of the state at heart to work towards the party’s success.

“Rivers State is on the move, Rivers State is united, Rivers APC is coming together as one and everybody who has the interest of Rivers State is onboard. Anybody who is not onboard with us but busy going around media houses to declare themselves as parallel leaders of this party are wasting their time,” Abe said.

The former senator commended the state chairman of APC, Chief Tony Okocha, and the state executive committee for conducting what he described as a flawless primary election that produced candidates acceptable to all members ahead of the grassroots polls.
