
IROKUN KINGDOM IN ILAJE BEGINS PROCESS TO INSTALL NEW MONARCH

The people of Irokun Kingdom in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State have commenced moves to install a new monarch, following the demise of their former king which left the community without a traditional ruler.
Elders of the kingdom visited the Ilaje Local Government headquarters in Igbokoda on Wednesday for a meeting with the council chairman, Hon. Oripenaye Maurice Ola, to deliberate on the process of selecting a new king.
Addressing the delegation, Hon. Ola urged the people of Irokun to ensure peace, unity, and love prevail as they embark on the installation process. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence was crucial for the growth and development of the community.
The meeting had in attendance the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Segun Odolo; Mr. Akinnodin Vincent, representing HOLGA; Mr. Omosegbon Francis, Local Government Chieftaincy Affairs Desk Officer; a representative of the Department of State Services (DSS); the Chairman’s Media Aide, Hon. Taiwo Sadare; his Assistant, Okorisa Henry; alongside elders of Irokun Kingdom.
The visit marked a significant step in the kingdom’s effort to restore traditional leadership after a period of vacancy on the throne.
