Admin. 25th August, 2025
Emure-Ile community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State has produced a new traditional ruler, as Prince Bankole Adeyefa emerged the Elemure-Elect following a keenly contested selection process.
Adeyefa secured 4 out of 5 votes from the Kingmakers to defeat eight other contestants for the revered stool. The first-class monarch position became vacant after the demise of HRM Oba Simeon Adedubaje Adeyefa I, who joined his ancestors on Tuesday, 11th March 2025, after a glorious reign of 23 years.
Speaking after his emergence, Prince Adeyefa promised to sustain and improve on the legacies of his late father while prioritizing development across Emure-Ile Kingdom. He lauded the peaceful conduct of the selection process and praised his co-contestants, describing them as equally qualified for the throne.
“I will always strive to ensure that Emure-Ile is not left behind among the comity of developing towns,” he said, while calling for unity and pledging not to take the support of the people for granted.
Other contenders for the throne included Ogunkande Oluwaseju Jacob, Omotosho Abiodun, Apogbona Oluwatobi, Adeyefa Sesan Alao, Oguntimihin Dende, Adeyefa Samuel Adedayo, Adegbola Bayowa, and Ojo Adeyefa.
