Ilaje LGA: REMOVE ILLEGAL FOOTBRIDGE NOW—Iranse Quarter’s leader Tells Ikudehinbu Leader.
The Leadership of the Iranse quarters in Orioke-Iwamimo, His Holiness, Oba Ismail Ogunmuhi and his followers has called on the leader of the Ikudehinbu’s followers Oba Jabez Alebiosu Ikudehinbu to remove the illegal construction of the footbridge across the water way that parted the Orioke-Iwamimo Community and Odumaran Village, as the footbridge is preventing their fishing boats from passing to their areas.
The people of the Community also said that since the road( the Water way) belongs to the Federal Government, therefore, they don’t have the rights whatsoever, to construct any footbridge across the water way.
According to the people living in the Iranse quarters, the barrier posed by this Monster is causing the economic hardship to them in all aspects of human endeavour as their boats can not move out or come in. While the people from the Ikudehinbu quarters are saying, that the self constructed footbridge served as a relief to their people from crossing from Orioke-Iwamimo to Odumaran.
Also, the other group are contending that it’s illegal for them to construct this kind of kangaroo footbrigde across the Government water way and this is causing obstruction to in and out movement of their people..
This ancient traditional village (Odumaran) happened to be the village where the people of Orioke-Iwamimo particularly, the people of the Iranse Quarters migrated from in the year 1952 when the then His Holliness Wilson Ikudehinbu and Rayon Adebawo (Iranse) both are of Blessed memory, founded Orioke-Iwamimo Community alongside with their followers. Ever since then , the community had been living in peace together as one entity.
You would recalled that the issue of Leadership tussle came up in this community and this created separation within the Community. The Federal High Court in Ondo State ruled in favour of the Iranse quarters cum Adebawo people to be the leader of the Community while asking the defendant not to parrade himself as the leader of the said community .The Judgement was handed over to the Plaintiff (Iranse people) via their Lawyer Barrier Ebun Adegboruwa -SAN and the rulling was not appealed till today.
Ever since then, the Iranse quarters had allowed the sleeping dog to lie and each of them have been worshipping separately in their Churches after the court case and peace had been raining in the community even though the defendant refused to obey the court ruling.
Similarly, the leadership of the Iranse quarters are saying that the recent footbridge constructed by the Ikudehinbu people may likely spikes the frigile peace in the community.
According to the source , they said this act alone could cause a crisis if it’s not well managed. In their words “There is serious issue going on in the community that is likely to generate into crisis. The Ikudehinbu fashion is constructing footbridge to Maran which will hinder economic activities in our quarters and the case has been taken to the palace of Amapetu. When asked about the opinions of the People from the Odumaran? the source had this to say ” The Maran people have joined us to fight against the illegal footbridge construction. Maran people are holding meeting today over this illegal step”
The people of the Iranse quarters are now calling on the State Government Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo AKEREDOLU SAN and the Ilaje Local Government Chairman to please called the Ikudehinbu people into order by directing them to remove their illegal footbridge constructed across the Government water way now as they would not like to experience any crisis again in the community as it was during the Leadership turstle which led to skemishes in the year 2002 that caused a lot of destruction to their property that worth Millions of naira .
