Ondo NOA Marks National Ordinance Day, Emphasizes Respect for National Symbols

16th September, 2025.

As Nigeria continues its push for value reorientation and national unity, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ondo State has joined the nationwide observance of National Ordinance Day, calling on citizens to honour and uphold the integrity of the nation’s symbols.

The Ondo State Director of NOA, Mr. James Adekunle, made this appeal on Tuesday as part of a sensitization campaign aimed at deepening public understanding of national identity and promoting civic responsibility.

Speaking on the significance of the day, Mr. Adekunle described the National Ordinance Day as a moment of reflection on the country’s unity and shared values. “The celebration marks the historic date of Nigeria’s independence, symbolizing nationhood and unity,” he said. “We urge all citizens to give due respect to our National symbols – the Flag, Coat of Arms, National Anthem, Pledge, Constitution, and Passport – as these are emblems of our collective sovereignty.”

He noted that respecting these symbols was not merely ceremonial but fundamental to fostering a deeper sense of patriotism, particularly among younger generations.

The NOA’s ongoing campaign is designed to rekindle civic values and national pride, encouraging citizens to reconnect with the ideals of unity, peace, and progress.

Mr. Adekunle concluded by urging the public to actively participate in the celebration and use the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to Nigeria’s values and identity.
