In a bid to deepen public understanding of national values and civic responsibilities, the Ondo State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has taken its ongoing sensitization campaign to the airwaves, featuring prominently on Echoes of the Nation, a flagship programme on Breez 91.9 FM, Akure.
The engagement, held as part of a nationwide advocacy drive, focused on five key thematic areas targeted at promoting attitudinal and behavioral change among Nigerians. These include national security consciousness, disaster preparedness, civic responsibilities, value reorientation, and respect for national identity.
Representing the Ondo State Director, Mr. James Adekunle, were Mr. Sesan Olubumo, Head of Community Outreach and Development, and Mr. Micheal Ajibola, Head of Health and Social Care. The duo spoke extensively on the scope and impact of the Agency’s campaigns, emphasizing the need for greater public involvement in building a united and disciplined nation.
Mr. Olubumo detailed the strategic pillars of the campaign, while Mr. Ajibola drew attention to issues such as students’ behavior during graduation celebrations, citizens’ awareness of government policies, and the importance of peace and mutual respect in a diverse society.
The radio programme, hosted by Bimpe Dele Mogaji, provided an interactive platform for public enlightenment, with listeners gaining deeper insight into the role of the NOA in nation-building.
According to the Agency, radio remains a vital medium in reaching grassroots communities and reinforcing the ideals of responsible citizenship across all levels of society.
