Akure, October 31, 2025 — Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has been decorated as the Grand Patron of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) in recognition of his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration’s developmental strides across the state.

The investiture ceremony, held on Friday at the Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Akure, was part of the group’s official visit to inaugurate its Ondo State executive council and strengthen grassroots mobilisation for President Tinubu’s agenda.

Leading the delegation, the National Director General of TSG, Alhaji Umaru Tanko Yakassai, who represented the group’s National Convener, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his “exemplary leadership and progressive governance.”

Yakassai praised the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, describing Akure as a city undergoing “massive transformation.”

“Since I arrived in Akure, I have seen tremendous progress — well-lit roads, proper drainages, and ongoing construction projects. The governor is working tirelessly to uplift the people, giving hope to the youth, women, and elderly through people-centered programmes,” he said.

He noted that the Tinubu Support Group, founded in 2020, had established structures across all states to rally support for President Tinubu, adding that Ondo State remained “a model of political stability and loyalty within the APC.”

“Your Excellency, you have shown exceptional loyalty to the President and the progressive family. Ondo was the first state to declare full support for President Tinubu’s continuity, and we are proud of that commitment,” Yakassai added.

In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the group for the honour, describing it as an encouragement to sustain his administration’s developmental agenda and deepen collaboration with the federal government.

“Our administration shares the same vision with Mr. President — building sustainable systems that work for the people. The synergy between the federal and state governments is already yielding visible results,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The governor reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), recalling the party’s landslide victory in the 2024 governorship election across all 18 local government areas of the state.

“That victory was not by accident; it was a product of unity, hard work, and shared belief in the APC vision,” he noted.

Governor Aiyedatiwa pledged continued support for the TSG and other political platforms working toward the APC’s success in future elections.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, former Minister of State for Transport, lauded the governor as a “focused and dependable leader” who has brought renewed stability and confidence to governance in Ondo State.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa has changed the story of Ondo. Salaries and pensions are paid promptly, roads are being constructed, and infrastructure is springing up everywhere,” Adegoroye said.

He assured that members of the TSG would intensify grassroots mobilisation to consolidate the APC’s strength across all local government areas, saying, “We will go to every community to spread the message of progress and continuity.”
