‎Sad: Timber Truck Killed 15-Year-Old in Akure
‎
‎Date: 1st December, 2025
‎
‎It was a sad moment for the family of Eze Chinenye today, being the 1st of December, 2025, when a Timber Truck crushed a fifteen-year-old boy, Eze Daniel, to death when he wanted to cross the road.
‎According to a source who spoke with our correspondent, the boy was sent on an errand to go and buy nylons when he met his untimely death along the High Court Road because the truck was on the one-way side of the road going toward Oja Oba Market. The news had it that Eze was a student of Alagbaka Comprehensive High School, Akure, and was in JSS 2. When contacted, the family said the mother was in total distress as she was wailing, crying, and shouting the name of her child with the hope that he would return to life. A neighbor who spoke with us told us that the father was still on his way from Lagos State to Akure. Chinenye and her children were from Ebonyi State.
‎The corpse of the boy has been taken to the morgue by the police officers who arrived at the scene when the incident happened, while the Timber Truck and the driver are in police custody at the “A” Division station.
‎
‎Also, another bus knocked an elderly woman down on the same High Court Road in Akure when the woman wanted to cross toward the court. Speaking, the woman’s daughter, Bosede Adelaju, said her mummy, Adelaju Temitope, was knocked down this morning when she wanted to cross the road to go to her office when the motor knocked her down because they took one way. She said she had been taken to the Police Clinic for treatment. She said the mother was in a critical coma and that the driver who drove the bus was with her mummy in the hospital.
‎According to her, the motor hit her mother on the head and her back, and she was not sure if she was responding to treatment.

‎The eyewitnesses said that it was one person that died in the accident as against the conflicting numbers of people reported to be involved in the accident.
‎Meanwhile, the bus has been taken to the police station for further investigation, while the woman is still in the Police Clinic in Akure for medical attention.
