OAGF Refutes Claims on N35,000 Wage Award Exclusion

15th January, 2026

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) has dismissed reports claiming that the N35,000 wage award was excluded from the 2025 Federal Budget, describing the information as misleading.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. Babatunde Ogunjimi, the Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, clarified that no such statement was ever made by the Accountant-General.
According to the OAGF, the Federal Government remains fully committed to the payment of the N35,000 wage award to civil servants. The office further disclosed that necessary arrangements have already been put in place to begin payment of the outstanding three months’ arrears.
The statement urged members of the public, especially civil servants, to disregard the circulating reports, stressing that they do not reflect the true position of the government.
The OAGF advised that verified and accurate information should only be obtained through official communications from the office.
