Self-discipline, commitment, and selflessness, no doubt, play a greater role in shaping one’s future in the drive to success. Anyone who refuses to venture outside his comfort zone is no different from others who remain in the background, repeatedly doing what they know how to do best.
Such people are always surrounded by people and events that draw them away from doing the things that are most important. However, venturing into challenging areas of life keeps one closer to achieving destiny and sets one in motion toward the peak of a career.
Most people do not want to take risks because of their comfortable lifestyles, where everything goes according to plan and nothing is faulty. The risk connected to faith in God’s word is not a risk, but rather faith in action.
In the political history of Ondo North Senatorial District, one name that sounds like the morning star across the 72 wards in the senatorial district is Hon. Ade Adeogun.
Hon. Ade Adeogun is a man with a listening ear and commands respect among his colleagues and followers because he has the interest of his people at heart.
Since he came to the limelight during the 9th National Assembly as a member representing the good people of Akoko South West and Akoko South East Federal Constituency, he has become a beacon of hope and a mentor to many people.
His performances in the 9th National Assembly made his followers and friends ask him to come out to contest for the Senate and rescue the people of Ondo North Senatorial District from an ominous ruin occasioned by directionless leadership.
What makes Hon. Ade Adeogun different from other aspirants is his genuine support for education, health, employment, infrastructure, and empowerment.
During his tenure in the Federal House of Representatives, not less than six hundred students gained admission into Upland College of Education, Ipesi, and Ifira Akoko.
In the area of empowerment, he sought capital for those who wanted to start businesses. His intervention during emergencies in his federal constituency brought about many changes.
Some of his laudable achievements in his four years of good representation are as follows:
Construction of the road from Oka-Odo Junction to St. Patrick’s College, Iwaro Oka; construction of a major bridge at Owake; building of a community hall at Oka-Odo; support for electrification of the new layout at Ayepe, Iwaro-Oka; renovation of Oka Town Hall; construction of a new transport garage at Oka; construction of bridges at Ibaka, Ikanmu, Agba, and Ikese, Oka Akoko; construction of a block of four flats at Oka Police Station; construction of a pavilion at AC Grammar School, Oka; construction of a community hall at Idofin, Ayegunle Oka; solar-powered borehole/water projects at Ibaka and Idofin; renovation of a hall at a secondary school in Korowa, Oka; construction of a new DSS office in Akungba-Akoko; construction of a bridge along Palace Road, Akungba-Akoko; construction of a three-classroom block at Muslim High School, Akungba-Akoko; mechanised borehole with reticulation adjacent to African Church, Akungba-Akoko; construction of six classroom blocks at Supare Akoko; solar-powered borehole at Supare Akoko; renovation of the administrative block of Ajagbokun Secondary School, Ikun Akoko; reconstruction of Awolowo, Irefun, Ode Arikansen, and Araromi roads in Oba Akoko; construction of a Community Civic Centre in Oba Akoko; renovation of a mosque in Ose, Oba Akoko; provision of a borehole at Oloba Palace; renovation of a six-classroom block at Ipesi Akoko; provision of a borehole at Ifira Akoko; construction of a motor park at Isua Akoko; provision of a borehole at Isua Akoko; construction of a bridge at Ipe Akoko; facilitation of one-kilometre reconstruction of the Epinmi Akoko–Simerin Road; scholarships for 600 students into Upland College of Education, Ipesi/Ifira Akoko; bursary support for two hundred students; supply of computers to secondary schools; supply of English and Chemistry textbooks to all secondary schools in Akoko South East/South West Federal Constituency; provision of buses to five community cooperative societies; supply of agrochemicals and farm inputs to 2,000 farmers; provision of relief materials to accident victims in Akungba and Iwaro through FEMA; provision of relief materials to victims of rainstorms in Akoko South West through FEMA; provision of empowerment support to artisans, tailors, hairdressers, beauticians, photographers, musicians, and DJs; provision of grants and tools to caterers, mechanics, welders, and carpenters; supply of block-making machines to selected block makers in the federal constituency; facilitation of agricultural loans to over 100 people (he is still repaying some of the loans); facilitation of COVID-19 grants to over 1,000 constituents; facilitation of employment for over 60 constituents into the Army, Navy, Police, Police Academy, DSS, NIA, NPA, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, NSCDC, Federal Medical Centre, Federal Fire Service, Ondo State Teaching Service Commission, Ondo State Primary Health Service, and other agencies; two of his constituents benefitted from five-year overseas scholarships facilitated by NIMASA. Apart from all these, he sponsored five bills and was a very visible member of the National Assembly.
The message Adeogun is sending to the people of Ondo North Senatorial District is clear, and he is not ready to change it. His interest is simply to raise hope that has been dashed by bad leadership. A plan is in the offing to create an economic platform that will benefit all electorates and society by giving direction to a people who have been badly plundered.
Against all odds, he will continue to preach the possibility of Ondo North Senatorial District’s dreams. It does not matter what pessimists may think or say. He is positively encouraged that the people will see better days if they do not faint.
Due to his outstanding performance and leadership, the people of Ondo North Senatorial District—both young and old—have called on him to represent them in the Senate come 2027. This call is not borne out of mere political ambition, but out of his performance in the Federal House of Representatives in the 9th Assembly.
His people have seen in him that, if given the opportunity, he will liberate the senatorial district from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment.
The message is clear: Hon. Ade Adeogun is the ideal people’s candidate. The trust he has built over the years forms part of his campaign foundation.
