As part of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Saturday led a statewide health walk in Akure, drawing participation from top government officials, youths and residents.
Among those who joined the exercise was the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, alongside civil servants and other stakeholders who turned out early to promote physical fitness and healthy living.
Speaking at the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored the importance of regular exercise, noting that the golden jubilee celebration offered a fitting platform to encourage citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles that support longevity and productivity.
Prince Poroye described the health walk as a timely and symbolic initiative, stressing that the wellbeing of the people remains central to sustainable development. He reaffirmed OSOPADEC’s commitment to supporting programmes that enhance the health and welfare of residents, particularly in the oil-producing communities of the state.
