Ondo Police Deploy 3,000 Personnel to Secure Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations

The Ondo State Police Command has deployed no fewer than 3,000 officers across the state as part of heightened security measures to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, said the operation is in line with the security mandate of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at protecting lives and property before, during and after the festive period.
According to the Command, personnel have been strategically deployed to Eid prayer grounds, major highways, markets, recreational centres and other critical public spaces across the state.
The police also revealed that specialised units, including Tactical Teams, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD-CBRN), Police Mobile Force and operatives of the State Intelligence Department, have been mobilised for both covert and overt operations to prevent crime and ensure rapid response to any security threats.
The development is part of broader nationwide efforts by security agencies to tighten security during the Sallah festivities.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through designated emergency lines.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, while extending Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful across the state.
