The Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, has commended the people of Ondo and Ekiti States for the crucial role they played in the victory of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the February 25 presidential election.

Prince Adegoroye was full of praises for the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN and his Ekiti counterpart, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, for spearheading the overwhelming victory of Asiwaju Tinubu in the two States.

The Minister spoke after a congratulatory visit to the Governor of Ekiti State, Oyebanji, at the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti, the State capital, on Thursday.

According to him, the fact that Ondo State gave Tinubu the highest percentage win among the 36 States of the Federation, closely followed by Ekiti in second position, shows the love the governors and the people of the two States have for the President-elect.

Ondo State recorded 69.4 percent of votes cast in the State for the APC’s Tinubu, making it the highest in the country, while Ekiti recorded 64 percent of votes cast in the State to come in second place nationwide. Tinubu also won in all the local government areas of the two States.

This feat, the Minister added, deserves special recognition and commendation, stressing that Ondo and Ekiti States have taken their rightful position as cradle of progressive politics in Nigeria.

Thanking the people of Ondo and Ekiti States for voting for Tinubu, Prince Adegoroye said the people of the two States have shown that they are the Omoluabis of Yorubaland.

The Minister specially commended the leadership role of Governor Akeredolu, who was the Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign for the South West region, in heralding Tinubu’s victory.

Meanwhile, the Minister has urged the people of Akure to support and cast their votes for the candidates of the APC in the coming House of Assembly elections.

Prince Adegoroye made the plea while speaking at a special reception in his honour by The Stream at Alagbaka in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The Minister added that in order to complete the victory given to the party last Saturday, the people should elect House of Assembly candidates of the APC in the March 18 elections.

He said Governor Akeredolu is one of the strong pillars behind the election of Tinubu and such steadfastness he has shown should be reciprocated with victory for the House of Assembly candidates of the party.

The Minister promised that the two APC House of Assembly candidates in Akure South, Hon. Toluwani Borokini and Barrister Steven Abitogun, are qualified personalities who will offer meaningful representation to their constituents.
