Business: Glow FM CEO Seeks Media Support, Condemns Corruption in Society
‎
‎By Olusegun HOSEA
‎The Chief Executive Officer of Glow FM, Ijapo, Akure, Ondo State, Dr. Ezekiel Akande, has sought the collaboration and support of journalists in promoting his laudable activities through their various media platforms and channels.
‎Dr. Akande made the appeal while speaking with members of the Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria yesterday. The Oke-Agbe, Akoko, Ondo State indigene called for stronger media collaboration with the association to achieve more robust and impactful projects.
‎Speaking during the interaction, Dr. Akande also condemned corruption and other sharp practices in society. He cited experiences from his business dealings with different individuals over the years, noting that dishonest conduct could make people lose credibility, recognition, and the trust of those who recommended them for opportunities.
‎According to him, transparency, dedication to duty, and exemplary leadership are virtues that every responsible leader should demonstrate to younger people who look up to them, particularly in the media industry. He maintained that employees working in reputable organisations with attractive salaries and welfare packages should have no reason to engage in misconduct or fraudulent practices, stressing that such actions ultimately undermine the revenue and growth of the organisation. He added that business owners often depend on profits to meet the daily and monthly operational expenses of their establishments.
‎In another development, Dr. Akande, a renowned medical practitioner, spent a significant part of his career practising abroad before returning home to invest in the media industry and other business.. He has also provided medical support to various groups within society and serves as a patron of the Agbekoya security organisation, among several other community-based bodies.
‎Speaking further, Akande advised media practitioners and members of the public not to neglect their health, warning that high blood pressure does not spare anyone, including health professionals. He urged people to maintain healthy relationships and work harmoniously with others, noting that no one knows who may come to their aid in times of difficulty.
‎Similarly, the Glow FM CEO explained that he requires greater publicity and public awareness for his activities and projects. He acknowledged the support of the government in certain areas and stressed that, although he possesses the capacity to execute many of his initiatives, collaboration remains essential for success. He therefore appealed for media partnership and support to advance his programmes and developmental efforts
