The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Owo Consistency 1, Hon Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi popularly known as West has refuted the report of attack on his opponent property as untrue saying the candidate in question is only looking for cheap popularity and sympathy votes.

Ogunmolasuyi who doubles as the Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly is seeking reelection bid into the State House of Assembly.

It was allegedly reported that the candidate said the Majority Leader sent his boys to destroy his property because he refused to step down for him and rejected his offers.

Speaking on the allegation of attack, West debunked the report that he was the brain behind the alleged attack on one of his opponents in the Saturday’s Assembly election.

Ogunmolasuyi stated that at no time did he approach nor sent emissary to the candidate requesting for negotiation for him to step down, saying the candidate is a minor in the politics of Owo Local Government who has no electoral value.

His words: ” I am too organized and matured politically to send thugs to the perceived opponent in the forthcoming assembly race. I’m not a desperate contestant and neither do I feel bothered about the weight of any oppositions in the election coming up in less than 48 hours as far as I’m concerned to warrant involvement in violent or sponsoring attack on unknown candidate in the State constituency”.

” This is a candidate that can’t pinpoint to any political structure in the constituent let alone winning an election. He is not a threat and can’t be threat to my reelection on Saturday”.

The MHA expressed his preparedness for the Saturday’s Assembly Election saying the voters have seen what he has done in the last three and half years and even before he became a Member of the House of Assembly in the State and they will definitely do the needful by casting their votes for him.

He however urged the constituents to resist people of questionable characters who are lying and trying to deceive them to garner sympathy votes, saying he neither has the capacity to deliver nor capability to take the Constituency to greater heights.

” I’m using this medium to appeal to the people of the constituent not to fall for the antics of the man that has nothing to offer but looking for ways to malign my integrity and reputation. Your votes for me is a vote for continuity of good representation and provision of more dividend of democracy”.

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that the traditional ruler of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye has recently invited all the candidates to a meeting appealing to them to allow peace to reign, saying election is not a do or die affairs.

” I’m appealing to all the candidates in the Saturday’s Assembly election to allow peace to reign in Owo and whoever is planning to forment trouble before, during and after the election will have himself to blame. Owo has been peaceful and I will not allow anybody to disturb the peaceful coexistence of the town in the name of election”, the monarch said.
