ONDO DEEP SEA PORT: Things to know about the project The proposed site.

ONDO DEEP SEA PORT: Things to know about the project The proposed site of the Sea Port is Erunna/Opoti in Ilaje LGA and It’s christened “Port Ondo”. The Port will cost $1.4billion and will be financed through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and to be concessioned 50years.
The feasibility of Port Ondo has shown that it is economically viable because it has the deepest natural draught with the longest coastline in West Africa and with the capacity to harbour large vessels like container ships and bulk carriers.
Port Ondo is located well to serve the middle of the country and will be the closest port to the capital of Nigeria, Abuja.

The proposed Lekki-Araromi Road project when completed, will also be connected to the Port.
After the Outline Business Case of Port Ondo was completed by Governor Akeredolu-led administration, the Governor was invited by the Dubai’s ruling family, His Highness Sheikh Dalmook Al Maktoum and the Dubai Port Authority to sign a MoU showing interest in the Port Development

Multi-purpose terminal
Offshore supply terminal
RoRo import terminal
Cement export terminal
Bitumen export dolphin berths
Reserved area for rail shunting yard with two rail lines Ondo Deep-sea Port will serve the robust economic growth by activating the Ondo Free Trade Zone as a manufacturing and trade Hub and Ease the Country of maritime traffic, and accommodate ever larger containerships.
When completed, Port Ondo is expected to create over 20,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.

At full potential, Port Ondo will also positively effect the surrounding border States (Ekiti, Osun and Kogi)
The recent approval by the FG for the establishment of Ondo Deep Sea Port is a Positive result of the relentless efforts of Governor Akeredolu to improve the economy of Ondo State with Massive investment. This is a promise fulfilled to Develop Ondo.
