Quantity Surveyor Temitope Elizabeth Momoh has emerged as the first finale Chairman of the Institute. She promised to take the Institute to a greater heights with the support of her team .


In another development, the invited guests  Prof. Olubola Babalola, the first Female Quantity Surveying in Africa from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, said the QS should be Prudent in the management of cash while doing their jobs.

The Professor who spoke on implications of current Nigerian economic outlook on the performance of construction industry, A Quantity Surveyors perspective. She said setting up a realistic budget for clients is very important in order for the Quantity Surveyors not to run into a problem as it would not be fare for them to demand for more money from their clients.

She explained that the cost of building materials was too high and as such their was need for the quality Surveyors to managed well the resources given to them by their clients for the construction of a good project.She advised them to monitor and  track their progress and be prudent in their management of cash.She advised the QS to organized seminar on how to reduced the cost of building materials in Nigeria.

Hon. OLayato Aribo, the immediate past commissioner of Agriculture, Ondo State was the chairman of the occasion welcome all the invited guests .
He said the Ondo State Chapter of the QS had brought honour to the state through their good work in the surveying industry and also by appointing the first Female Mrs Temitope Elizabeth Momoh as the Chairman of the Institute .

QS Oluwaseyi Awodele, the outgoing chairman of the Institute used the occasion to thanked the members of the Association for giving him support and also used the forum to read to the audience his achievements especially the ongoing construction of the Association’s Secretariat instituted during his tenure for the Institute and appealed to the 11th Chairman Temitope Momoh to ensure the completion of the project for the Association.

 

In her speech, QS Temitope Elizabeth Momoh thanked God for the assignment given to her. She appreciated HE lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the oncommon favour given to them when the Association paid him a courtesy call to him. She said she was what she are today by the grace of God even though her one lecturer told her that she could not become any thing in the Quality Surveying as she was advised to withdrew from the department and join Catherine Department but she kept on with fate and today now she a somebody to be recognized in the Profession.
She said her team would embarked on collaboration with allying institute. She said she would improve upon the foundation laid by her predecessor and let the younger students in the secondary schools to know the relevant of the Profession. She asked all members to support her in order to moved her ideas and the institute forward.

Dr. Adeyemi Olayemi -Rep D”Gov Dr. Adelami in his speech expressed his goodwill message. He said Mrs Temitope is a blessing to the people of Ondo State because of her commitment in the discharge her duties in the land development in the state. He prayed that God would go along with her in her journey as she lead the association.
